The Rainforest is a complete educational guide to the rainforests of the world featuring 60 minutes of narrated video and animations, over 400 color photographs, specially commissioned paintings, and hundreds of text pages. Sections on rainforest ecology, people of the rainforests and saving the rainforests are supplemented with interviews with rainforest experts, including Randall Hayes, Director of the Rainforest Action Network and Ben Cohen of 'Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream' fame. An encyclopedia of rainforest animals and plants provides photographs and video on all the major animal and plant groups that live in the rainforests, from millipedes to monkeys. All the world's tropical rainforests are also shown on detailed maps, with rainforest and former rainforest regions highlighted. Each chapter features a quiz section, and a full index allows rapid access to keywords.
