Press Release:This CD-ROM contains over fifty minutes of original, narrated underwater video, photography, music, and information on the marine life of the Eastern Pacific. In addition to the features of previous OceanLife volumes, OceanLife Vol. 6 introduces coverage of the marine mammals and reptiles of the region as well as expanded coverage of sharks and rays. Other features include text search and movie export. As with all Sumeria products, the movies, photographs, maps, and text on this CD may be reused royalty-free for any educational or non-commercial purpose. The movies are produced using QuickTime for Windows and Macintosh in a 320 by 240 pixel size format. Based on over two years of filming in the Eastern Pacific region by Sumeria staff, the CD was produced in collaboration with Gerald Allen, Ph.D., author of: Fishes of the Tropical Eastern Pacific, the most complete printed guide to the marine life of the region. Combined with the first five volumes of OceanLife - Western Pacific, Micronesia, Hawaiian Islands, Great Barrier Reef, and the Caribbean - publication of this volume of OceanLife extends the scope of the series, already the most comprehensive reference and education product on the subject of marine life available on CD-ROM. The series now provides readers with access to video of more than 850 species of the world's fishes.
