Based on a classic African folk tale, Imo and the King is the story of a courageous boy named Imo who sets out to become the King's successor. As his adventure unfolds, Imo learns an important life lesson - all kind acts are rewarded with kindness.

King Azizi seeks a prince to rule his kingdom after he is gone, and so sets forth a series of three tests that his successor must pass: change a pile of seeds into stones, chop down a tree with one blow from his hand, and pick out the King's daughter from a crowd of identically dressed girls. Eager to prove himself worthy, Imo sets off on a journey to the King's village, and along the way has three chance encounters that reveal his noble character.
