Reference/Astronomy An Explosion...An Oxygen Leak...200,000 Miles From HomeOn April 13, 1970 an explosion aboard the Apollo 13 spacecraft forced the cancellation of what was to have been the third lunar landing. The dramatic story of the rescue of the three astronauts is told here through a combination of still images, narration, animation, an original soundtrack, newspaper articles and interviews with the astronauts and five of the controllers who worked the flight. The disc also contains audio from various flight controller loops as well as from the spacecraft. Together these elements create a unique experience that no other medium can achieve.
