Animals in Danger takes a habitat-centered approach to endangerment, discussing how the destruction of ecosystems fuels the reduction in animal populations. It includes up-to-date information on numbers of many endangered species, as well as the reasons for their plight. Movie sequences show many of the animals in their native habitat.

This CD-ROM includes a database of North American and worldwide endangered and threatened animals as well as project work for students. It also includes maps of the world's major biomes and discusses their features and wildlife.

Animals in Danger is narrated by Norman Gershenz, and contains interviews with experts from San Francisco Zoo, San Diego WildAnimal Park and the Chula Vista Nature Center.
