The Age of Rifles and Muskets. Atlanta had fallen to Sherman's army and he had started his march to the sea. In desperation, the Confederate general Hood marched his army into Tennessee with the grand overall goal of reaching the Ohio River and thus foiling Sherman's advance. But Hood's plan would fail, due both to the stubborn defense of the Union forces in his way to Nashville and also due to decisions he made at Spring Hill and Franklin, Can you succeed with this plan where Hood failed? Or as the Union commander, can you stop the Confederate advance and help bring an end to the war? Campaign Franklin contains 64 scenarios, including the historical battles of Spring Hill, Columbia, Franklin, and Overall's Creek. Many 'what-if' variants of the historical battles allow the players to explore the various possibilities of the campaign. Though every scenario may be played as a stand-alone, the bulk of the scenarios are integrated into the operational/tactical campaign, providing a high degree of replay value. The heart of the game is the campaign. At each stage, players choose from 2-4 operational decisions that will result in a tactical battle to be played out on an expansive map, providing room for maneuver. The campaign is non-linear, with both offensive and defensive operational options available to each side. Features: On-map Combat Results option allows you to speed up play significantly, for both your turn and the AI turn. Play modes include AI (against the computer), Play-By-E-Mail, Two-Player Hotseat (single computer), and Network Play (both two player and multiplayer using teams). Requirements: Win98/ME/XP: Pentium-based 133mhz+ PC with 32 megabytes of RAM,. 250 megabytes of hard drive space, CDROM drive for installation and game play, Windows compatible sound card, Modem/LAN/Internet for Network play.
