Take a Deep Breath
Being in Wetlands is like living inside an animated movie. Although this underwater world is a feast for the eyes, you can't just dog paddle around looking at the gorgeous scenery. Once you splash down, the action comes at you fast and furious. You will team up with Jon Cole, a freelance "tracker," in pursuit of a madman who has the ability to destroy the entire planetary system. Along the way, you will use a variety of technology, weaponry, and pilot several vehicles, including hover boats, attack bombers, and a one-man craft called the "Sea Viper." You must also have a quick trigger finger when engaging in the deadly games of combat. If you crave intense action in a super-cool underwater environment, Wetlands is the adventure that you've been looking for.
Plot: In the distant furture, an unscrupulous nuclear experiment causes a world-wide meteorological disaster completely submerging all of the Earth's land mass. Blame for the apocalypse falls squarely on the shoulders of military scientist Philip Nahj, who just recently busted out of an intergalactic prison. He was just following orders; he's been locked up in cryogenic suspension for decades; and boy is he bitter. You play Cole, a hard-boiled agent wearing a perma-frown who must track down Nahj. Cole doesn't have very many friends; consequently he gets shot at - a lot.

"The story sequences capture the dark and brutal graphic-novel feel almost perfectly. That won't please everyone - women don't wear blouses so much as dirigible hangars, and the blood flows freely. But the animation is supple, the voices appropriate and the design skillful and witty...
Of course, none of this conceals the fact that Wetlands is essentially a string of shoot-'em-ups stitched together animations. But the shoot-'em-ups are spectacular, the animation is excellent, and the stitching is largely invisible."
