Windows: Windows 95 or NT 4.0 workstation or later, 486DX/50 MHZ or higher, 8MB RAM (Win 95) or 16 MB RAM (Win NT), 30 MB available hard disk space, 2x CD-ROM Drive, SVGA 256 color monitor supporting 600 x 480 resolution, local bus video with 1MB or more of video memory, mouse, sound board with speakers or headphones.

To use the Encarta Research Organizer you need 5 MB of additional hard disk space.

To use the Encarta Yearbook, Web Links, and monthly online updates, you need: 9600 or higher baud modem, access to the Internet, 4MB of additional hard disk space plus 1 MB for each monthly installment, Web browser.

Monthly online updates are available from 1 July 1997 through 31 December 1998 only at no additional cost. Access to and use of the Internet require payment of a separate fee to an Internet Service Provider.
