Enrich Your FreeBSD
Experience
The FreeBSD Toolkit contains a robust collection of
snapshots, packages, documentation, and distribution sources. This 6 disc set
is full of software that will enrich your FreeBSD experience and save you
countless hours of searching and downloading.
Included on this CDROM:
The latest binary "snapshot" releases of
FreeBSD 2.2, 3.1 and 4.0 branches.
Latest packages and distfiles released after
2.2.8-RELEASE and 3.1-RELEASE.
"Live" copy of the FreeBSD Project's CVS
repository, completely unpacked and available for use directly off the CDROM
(please see readme.txt on disc #2).
The www.freebsd.org web site.
An installable 4.0-CURRENT snapshot (March
26th, 1999) for the DEC Alpha architecture.
The most up-to-date patched version of
XFree86 3.3.3.1, with fresh support for 3DLabs cards.
The snapshots for 2.2 and 3.x contain the latest updates
since the initial distribution of 2.2.8-RELEASE and 3.1-RELEASE.
The 2.2.8-STABLE branch has received fewer updates than
3.1-STABLE, but still contains several hundred updates and new features (like
vinum).
The 3.1-STABLE branch has enough significant updates to it
that the snapshot in this toolkit can almost be considered equivalent to
3.2-BETA.
The 4.0 snapshot is, of course, more of a work-in-progress
and represents our work on the 4.0-CURRENT branch as of March 27th, 1999.
Are you looking for the latest FreeBSD updates to the 2.2.8,
3.0 or 3.1 branches? Are you looking for the most up-to-date 3rd party software
available? Then look no further than this toolkit!
