The Definitive Simulation of the F-16 Fighting Falcon

Press Release:

Interactive Magic, September 15, 1997

iF-16 has "accurate modeling, coupled with excellent gameplay. The best of both worlds." said PC Zone Magazine in their recent 91% rating of the game. In their 92% review of iF-16, Joker Magazine stated that this is "Digital Intergration's best flight simulator to date - if you're into flight and fight games you won't want to miss this one."

iF-16 contains a free-for-all arcade mode so that new players can quickly jump into the cockpit and enjoy combat action. For veteran players, iF-16 contains challenging missions and campaigns in Israel, Cyprus, and Korea. The game allows players to select their specific weapons for each mission and to control their wingmen during flight.

Based on the Block-C Mid-Life Update of the F-16 Fighting Falcon, iF-16 models the aircraft's "Lantirn" technology and allows players to locate and destroy enemy targets with special night vision capabilities. iF-16 contains a comprehensive array of weapons including Sidewinders, explosive rockets, laser-guided and infra-red Mavericks, general purpose, retarded and laser-guided bombs and cluster bombs.

"The F-16 is the workhorse of the U.S. Air Force," said Interactive Magic Chairman "Wild Bill" Stealey. "The Fighting Falcon is a $14 million flying masterpiece that can strike a target and vanish into the clouds without a trace. Our simulation will allow gamers to master the F-16 aircraft and feel a thrill that only a limited number of talented pilots have ever experienced."

The F-16, well-known for its dog-fighting capabilities and high standards of performance, was designed to be a lightweight and highly maneuverable aircraft. Equally potent in air-to-air and air-to-surface roles, F-16's flew approximately 13,500 sorties/missions in Desert Storm. The aircraft is credited with attacking enemy ground forces in Kuwait, knocking out Scud missile sites, and destroying chemical and weapon factories in Iraq.
