The Tate GalleryOver 150 works from the Tate Gallery are displayed in six multimedia 'galleries'. As you view each work, optional audio, textual and visual information is available to enhance your knowledge and enjoyment. The galleries, put together by the Tate specifically for this product, feature:
You can choose which gallery to enter from a Floor Plan showing the gallery layout. Alternatively, a Browse option gives you a random tour of the works displayed. The Archive option provides the background knowledge essential for a fuller understanding of a particular work. Available from each gallery, the Archive includes extensive information on the lives of the artists, descriptions of their work, explanations of historical and technical terms, and visual information. You can even try out your artistic judgement by putting together your own exhibition. The Private Gallery option allows you to create your own personal arrangement of pictures selected from any of the other galleries. Covers the main trends in British art, from pre-World War I to the early 1970s, as displayed in London's Tate Museum. Particular emphasis is given to dynamist painters, British sculpture of the 1950s, and British Pop of the 1960s.
