New Universe...... New Rules.......

A massively multiplayer, online, persistent world game. Perhaps even too real to be called a game, but definitely more fun than reality. Played on the Net, it takes place in a world that is alive and kicking every hour, every day. Players are spaceship captains cruising around the universe, trading, fighting and communicating with other players.

The Story:

EVE is a world far away from mankind's original habitat, planet Earth. How far away, and where, no one knows. Humans got there through a natural wormhole and gazing upon a sky never seen before, were completely unable to determine the whereabouts of this new world. From the system of New Eden, where the gate of EVE that once led to the old world lies, humans expanded in all directions at a great pace, exploring and colonizing.

Then, seemingly out of the blue the EVE gate collapsed in an apocalyptic catastrophe of a scale never before witnessed by the human race, ruining the New Eden system in the process. Thousands of small colonies were left in isolation to fend for themselves. For many millennia they endured on the brink of extinction and only a handful survived. Of those surviving colonies, five were to rise up and become the major empires that hold between them the balance of power in the world of EVE today. These are: the Amarr Empire, the Gallente Federation, the Caldari State, the Minmatar Republic and the Jovian Empire, plus several small independent factions and states.

For more than a century the five empires have lived together in relative peace. They've strived hard to maintain this peace as each of them realizes only too well the grave consequences of a massive inter-stellar war. Recent technological breakthroughs in FTL travel, and the ensuing increase in space travellers has shaken, but not broken the fragile peace - at least not yet…

Amarr - The largest of the empires in the world of EVE, Amarr spans 40% of the inhabited solar systems.

Caldari - A state built off corporate capitalism. The Caldari State is run by a few mega-corporations which divide the state between them, controlling and ruling every aspect of society.

Jove - The most mysterious and elusive of all the peoples of EVE. The Jovians number only a fraction of any of their neighbors, but their technological superiority makes them powerful beyond all proportion.

Minmatar - A tough, no nonsense race, the Minmatars are a determined and independent people. Their home planet on Matar is a natural paradise although centuries of abuse have taken much from its beauty.

Gallente - The Gallenteans are self--righteous, meddling, pompous and tiresome, or virile libertarians and defenders of the free world. Love them or hate them, you simply can 't ignore them.

Explore a vast universe: Thousands of solar systems await exploration exploitation, and corruption at the hands of you and your friends.

Choose a profession: Dauntless fleet commander or the most nefarious pirate ever to terrorize the galaxy - be and do anything you'd never dare imagine.

Join the community: Conspire with thousands of others to bring the galaxy to its knees, or go it alone and share the glory with no one.

Develop your character: Design a face to frighten, or one to entice and then choose your race and your personality to fit.

Player-Driven economy: Form a cartel of ruthless compatriots and control the spaceways. Buy, sell, and barter to amass great wealth.... or do it the easy way with a hostile takeover.

Immerse yourself in the vast virgin territories of EVE where power is the Holy Grail and the ultimate aphrodisiac. conceive a new life without boundaries, where murder, plunder, betrayal, and delusions of grandeur will lead you to boundless glory or the the brink of ruin. The galaxy is yours to control if you have the brains, strength, and cunning to succeed.

Games Domain by Chris Hudak

"This MMORPG takes place in outer space, which is, as you may have heard at one time or another, quite large. Massively multiplayer realms are supposed to be big, of course, but EVE takes the idea to lip-gibbering extremes with some 5,000 star systems separated by vast gulfs of roamable space... which in turn are patrolled by player-character starships..."

"The same sorts of symbiotic relationships crop up with other character types. Those who really have their economic stuff together likely won't have had the means to excel in combat, and would do well to make nicey with those who have taken the combat training route. Why? Because of the pirates - another fine career-choice, if that's what you're into. The pirates need the suckers, the suckers need the musclemen, the musclemen need the weapons factories (and the weapons factories need the pirates, you might say... but now you're just getting cynical)."
