The Legendary Final Voyage of Amelia
Earhart
In 1937 the courageous Amelia Earhart and navigator Fred
Noonan took off on the first flight around the world. Their attempt ended in
tragedy, and no trace of the plane or the two aviators has ever been found.
Now, after sixty years, Around the World lets you relive the excitement
of this famous voyage.
With Around the World you can retrace this historic
journey. You'll visit more than thirty destinations: exotic jungle airstrips,
desolate desert outposts and vibrant urban aerodomes. More than three million
square miles of original scenery illustrate Earhart's route from Oakland, CA,
across the southern US, skirting South America, across the Atlantic and Africa,
into Asia and over the Pacific. You'll fly over scenery as it existed sixty
years ago in the same vintage plane custom outfitted for Earhart.
You'll fly Earhart's famous Lockheed Electra L-10, the
"flying laboratory." This twin-engine tail dragger is equipped with an
authentic 1937 control panel.
Large maps and detailed flight plans illustrate and
clarify the entire route.
The exclusive scenery includes 30 airports along the
more than 24,000 miles.
The flight guide briefs you for the journey with
historic and "how to" perspectives.

Requirements:
Microsoft Flight Sim 95 or 98 or 5.1, IBM compatible PC, Windows 95,
16MB RAM, CD-ROM drive.

Pilot's Briefing
Around the World embodies a new concept in flight
simulator add-on packages. Unlike other scenery packages which focus on a
geographic region, this theme scenery is designed around Amelia Earhart's
historic 1937 flight around the equator. You'll fly to all the destinations on
her planned route, visiting cities, outposts, oases and islands as you recreate
her flight.
More than thirty destinations are recreated here just as
they appeared in 1937. Over three million square miles of scenery take you
around the globe. Master designers Tim Dickens and Justin Tyme have
collaborated to create realistic scenery from Oakland, CA, to Miami, FL, across
the Caribbean to South America, across the Atlantic to Africa, into Asia,
Australia, over the pacific islands and back to Oakland.
Noted aircraft designer David Lewis has painstakingly
rebuilt the famous Lockheed Electra for flight simulator, paying special
attention to the flight dynamics for an authentic piloting experience. Chuck
Dome, a name familiar to many flight simulator enthusiasts, has designed a
vintage 1937 control panel for the Electra.
Around the World takes you back to 1937, creating an
authentic flight experience with contemporary sceneries and a highly detailed
airplane. Along the way you'll learn about the history of aviation and meet the
pioneer who established air travel as part of our life and herself as part of
our imagination.
